Job Title: Quality Technician

Direct Hire

Pay: $20 to $25/hr

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Technician to perform inspections, measurements, and tests on incoming materials, in-process, and finished products to ensure that quality requirements are consistently met. The role involves reading, analyzing, and using drawings, blueprints, sample data, and other materials to determine conformance to requirements of processes, materials, and products. You will set up and use various types of inspection and measurement equipment to validate product and process conformance and ensure compliance with specifications.

Responsibilities

+ Conduct inspections, measurements, and tests on materials and products to ensure quality standards are met.

+ Read and analyze drawings, blueprints, and other materials for conformance to requirements.

+ Set up and operate inspection and measurement equipment.

+ Collect samples for testing and affix stamps, tags, or labels to indicate product inspection status.

+ Perform final product release activities and route nonconforming materials to the appropriate area.

+ Record inspection, measurement, and test data on designated forms or computer systems.

+ Assist in developing and implementing inspection and test processes.

+ Participate in cross-functional teams as the quality representative and investigate nonconformance complaints.

+ Collaborate with management and staff to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.

Essential Skills

+ 2-5 years of quality inspection experience.

+ Proficiency in reading measurement tools such as micrometers and calipers.

+ Ability to hold parts up to 10 pounds for measurement.

+ Experience in documenting data into computer systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ CMM programming experience is a plus.

+ Experience with optical comparators and contour tracers is advantageous.

Work Environment

Work in a clean, modern facility with fewer than 200 employees, where you are not just a number. The plant operates on a 3-shift, 5-day work schedule with opportunities for overtime. The third shift runs from 10:00 PM to 6:20 AM. Enjoy shift premiums and a supportive work culture where the president walks the floor and talks to employees. The environment is relaxed, allowing access to cell phones and offering outdoor smoking areas.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Wooster, Ohio.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $37440.00 - $41600.00/yr.
