    Brief Job Overview

     

    This is a non-supervisory position in Reference Standard Laboratory responsible for performing the required tests as part of the project and maintaining the GLP environment in the Laboratory. The incumbent will utilize their technical expertise, knowledge of efficient and effective laboratory operations.

    The **Senior Laboratory Technician** has the following responsibilities:

    + Executes all testing and analysis of data with excellence and essentially no errors.

    + Demonstrates solid scientific approach to laboratory operations.

    + Supporting Verification, and departmental teams in terms of supply procurement and laboratory organization, testing, and project review whenever needed.

    + Responsible for sample archival, sample tracking and chemical inventory tracking in the laboratory.

    + Coordination with group leader to ensure completion of the projects allotted to the team.

    + Ensuring that the chemicals and column etc. are available for the projects and forward the purchase requisitions.

    + Taking up any additional responsibilities assigned by Supervisor from time to time.

    + Ensure all lab safety and GLP practices are maintained in the lab and participate actively in the internal and external audits and certification.

    + Responsible for performing the calibration of the equipment as per the schedule.

    + Responsible for preparing, executing, and completing IQ/OQ/PQ of new instruments.

    + Pursues, recommends, and implements new approaches or processes to improve laboratory operations.

    + Demonstrates a strong desire to continue learning and grow personal capability.

    + Records experimental data, ensuring clear and accurate transcription of results and calculations.

    + Knowledge of Water determination, Loss on drying, Residue on Ignition, Titrations, Spectroscopic analysis (UV, IR etc.,) and thin layer Chromatographic techniques.

     

    Who is USP Looking For?

    The successful candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of our mission, commitment to excellence through inclusive and equitable behaviors and practices, ability to quickly build credibility with stakeholders, along with the following competencies and experience:

    + High School diploma with 10 years’ experience in a laboratory setting, or

    + Associate degree with 8 years’ experience in a laboratory setting.

    + Knowledge of pharmaceutical testing requirements and test protocols involving compendial methods for reference materials (USP compendia, ICH guidelines, FDA regulations etc.).

    + Must possess effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

    Additional Desired Preferences

    + Awareness of GLP regulations, QMS, ISO/IEC 17025 and exposure to external regulatory audits is desirable.

    + Ability to embrace and lead change. Extremely adaptable.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    None, this is an individual contributor role.

    Compensation

     

    Base Salary Range: USD $85,200.00 – $108,400.00 per year.

     

    Target Annual Bonus: % Varies based on level of role.

     

    Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate’s skill set, experience, qualifications, equity, and other job-related reasons.
