Job Description
POSITION OVERVIEW:The Assistant Coach/Coaching Analyst will serve as a coach for the Delaware Blue Coats while providing data/analytics information to the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED, TO THE BELOW:
+ Work with and work out players who play for the Blue Coats
+ Assist in scouts for upcoming G-league games
+ Regularly track and report key team and player metrics; turn insights into clear adjustments
+ Work with the coaching staff and R&D to design, test, and implement on-court strategy ideas
QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Thorough knowledge of the game of basketball gained through a minimum of 3 - 5 years aggregate experience of coaching, scouting, or playing NCAA basketball or equivalent experience
+ Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel are a must
+ Experience using technical tools for data analysis (e.g. Python, SQL, R)
+ A Bachelor’s degree in a data-related field is preferred
WORKING CONDITIONS:
+ Travel Requirements: This position is required to travel on a regular basis depending on game schedule and scouting needs; trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay.
+ Work Environment: This position generally requires that work be performed from the Chase Fieldhouse in Wilmington, DE and may require attendance at events taking place at the Philadelphia 76ers Practice Facility in Camden, NJ and the Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia, PA. Flexible hours may be required, including some nights, weekends, and holidays.
+ Physical Requirements: Must be able to work out with players on a regular basis; must be able to move items up to 30 pounds
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $50,000 and $80,000/year. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
