Position Description:

Contributes to the university’s mission through teaching, research and service, some variation by academic unit.

Major/Essential Functions:

+ Supervise and teach residents and medical students in classroom and clinical settings.

+ Work in close conjunction with Orthopaedic department chair and PMR faculty to develop a long-term PM&R division strategic plan.

+ Provide patient care in the inpatient and outpatient settings affiliated with a Level 1 Trauma Center.

+ Perform outpatient procedures including injections, ultrasound, and EMG.

+ Develop rehabilitation protocols at the UMC of El Paso Hospital for patients requiring rehab services.

+ Engage in advancement of scientific knowledge through research and/or scholarship.

+ Serve the academic community through participations with committee work and other administrative duties.

+ Contribute to the community through academically-related public service complementary to the institutional mission.

+ Ensure compliance with HIP AA and billing regulations.

+ Adhere to institutional and departmental policies and procedures.

+ Demonstrate professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine's Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility.

+ Uphold and promote the value-based culture of TTUHSC El Paso.
