    Job Summary

    The Department of Neurology within Michigan Medicine is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Pre-Award Administrator to join our team. This fully remote position is responsible for supporting faculty and researchers in the development, preparation, and submission of grant and contract proposals to federal, state, and private funding agencies.

     

    The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of funding agencies, excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

    Responsibilities*

    + Manage proposal submissions through electronic proposal management system or direct sponsor websites.

    + Interpret funding opportunity announcements and other sponsor requirements.

    + Prepare budgets and required sponsor forms for proposals.

    + Process all proposal paperwork including budgets, justification, and current and pending support.

    + Monitor proposals to meet agency and University deadlines and guidelines.

    + Assist faculty with response to funding agency request.

    + Coordinate the submission of Just in Time request from sponsor agencies.

    Required Qualifications*

    + Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in finance, accounting, research administration, or business administration is required.

    + A minimum of 5 years of grant and contract experience in finance and/or research administration.

    + Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, including high level of accuracy, attention to detail, multitasking, and prioritizing while exercising good judgment.

    + Work independently or collaboratively as a part of a team.

    + Successful candidates must be motivated with a positive attitude and strong commitment to exceptional customer service, as they will work closely cultivating trust and report with a variety of constituents including departmental faculty and staff, Medical School and University administration, and sponsors.

    + Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to maintain confidential information.

    + Requires strong computer skills including proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Adobe.

     

    Modes of Work

     

    Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment.     Background Screening

     

    Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
