    **Location:** Primarily at Lancaster General Hospital with occasional travel and work at Suburban Outpatient Pavilion, Ambulatory Surgical Facility, and Women’s and Babies Hospital

    **Schedule:** Full time (40 hours per week), primarily Monday through Friday from 6:30am to 3:00pm, occasional weekends, minimal on-call rotation, 1 summer and 1 winter holiday.

    Position Summary:

    The Lead Anesthesia Technician role will assist in overseeing the daily operation and workflow of the Anesthesia Technicians to ensure safe, quality care of the surgical patients. This position is 60% clinical and 40% administrative.

    Essential Functions:

    + Perform duties of Anesthesia Technician (AT) as described in AT job description.

    + Works closely with Manager Perioperative Clinical Support, CRNA Leadership Team and Chair of the Department of Anesthesia.

    + Communicates all changes in work details to staff as needed. Gives input on employee performance and makes recommendations for personnel.

    + Coordinate orientations, training and documentation of essential and mandated education and training programs for assigned staff. Work closely with Clinical Nurse Educator and Manager Perioperative Clinical Support to develop, update and run competencies.

    + Ensures standards are met for room preparation and cleanup and anesthesia equipment maintenance.

    + Proactively influence, train or mentor others to contribute to Patient Safety practices, organization and departmental goals.

    + Demonstrates a detailed technical knowledge and troubleshooting ability for anesthesia delivery system (anesthesia machines) and monitoring equipment.

    + Evaluate functionality of area workflow processes and assist in quality and improvement projects.

    + Work collaboratively with Manager Perioperative Clinical Support and peers to achieve department goals.

    + Participate in the interview process and helps with selection of new staff members.

    + Serve as a resource for staff and customers regarding decontamination and sterilization process of anesthesia equipment.

    + Monitors departmental supply levels and orders supplies as necessary.

    + Maintains equipment inventory to track repairs, loaners and demos.

    Qualifications:

    + HS Diploma or GED

    + 3+ years of experience as an Anesthesia Technician
