    SUMMARY: Determine the most effective ways to use the basic factors of production—people, machines, materials, information, and energy—to make a product. Embraces and executes the Company Core Values. Actively supports the Company’s vision and goals.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include the following. Other duties will be assigned in a progressive manner:

     

    • Apply statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, staff requirements, and production standards. Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency utilizing various tools such as standard operations to include walk paths, time stamping, tact time, flow charts, process mapping, Value Stream Mapping and other tools utilized in lean and six sigma methodologies.

    • Analyze current and the development of future processes to eliminate waste, non-value-added procedures and minimize variation. Develop and justify cost savings and cost avoidance projects.

    • Coordinate quality control objectives and activities to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, and minimize cost. Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished product and process capabilities; establishing standards; and confirming manufacturing processes.

    • Develop cross functional teams and confer with vendors, staff, and management personnel regarding purchases, procedures, product specifications, manufacturing capabilities, and project status. Determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications.

    • Draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency, using drafting tools and computer.

    • Review production schedules, engineering specifications, orders, and related information to obtain knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities. Communicates with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate efficient production processes.

    • Communicate with management and user personnel to develop production and design standards. Estimates production cost and effect of product design changes for management review, action, and control. Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.

    • Develop Work Instructions and train the cells in this procedure.

    • Work in current ERP/MRP scheduling system and develop routers for all new and modified job orders.

    • Formulate sampling procedures and designs and develop forms and instructions for recording, evaluating,

     

    and reporting quality and reliability data.

     

    • Record or oversee recording of information for engineering drawings and documentation of production problems.

     

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervises all team members. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include safety awareness, interviewing, hiring, and training team members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining team members; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

     

    QUALITY RESPONSIBILITIES: In daily work, a team member is responsible to maintain or exceed the degree of excellence requested by the internal and external customers of this department. This includes following established policies, following ISO 9001 & 14001 policies, business practices, and work instructions, using problem solving techniques to solve root causes of problems, and viewing quality as customer satisfaction.     EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree and one to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience based on level of role.

     

    LANGUAGE SKILLS; Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence.
