    Key Responsibilities:

    The Senior Director for the Air Force Acquisition Operating Unit reports to the Air Force Program Division Vice President. The Sr. Director manages budgets, sets goals, enforces policies, and oversees costs and financial activities for a portfolio of approximately $110M annually and a team of around 300 employees located in Dayton, OH; Warner Robins, GA; and Boston, MA.

     

    The position requires business acumen, a solid understanding of fundamental business principles, strong analytical problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.

    Specific Responsibilities:

    + Oversee daily business operations for the operating unit

    + Manage profit and loss, staffing, resource allocation and taking measures to improve performance for the group.

    + Develop, manage, and implement the strategic plan for growth within the operating unit.

    + Prepare the operating unit’s financial plan, budget, and financial forecasts, while maintaining planning and control procedures.

    + Provide strategic direction for the operating unit based upon customer needs, market conditions, resource availability, and corporate objectives

    + Collaborating with the Growth Organization to develop short and long-term strategies to meet strategic company objectives.

    + Developing strong relationships with functional leaders to ensure collaboration throughout the organization.

    Work Environment:

    + Location: Hybrid in Dayton, Ohio; onsite at least 3 days a week.

    + Travel Requirements: Minimal 0-20%

    + Working Hours: Standard

    Required Qualifications and Skills:

    + Master’s degree in business / engineering / aerospace and 15+ years of experience, including 5+ years of P&L experience.

    + Strong business acumen, with a particular focus on profit optimization, EBITDA oversight, and effective cash flow management.

    + Demonstrated ability to make decisions and develop strategies based on a deep understanding of customer needs and data

    + Experience managing Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC) product contracts

    + Recent experience with supporting Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) and Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC)

    + Proven experience collaborating with cross-functional teams

    + Demonstrated experience Capturing new work and leading Proposal teams

    + Active Secret clearance is required; (TS/SCI preferred)

    + Excellent communication skills, superior knowledge of business functions, exceptional budgeting, and finance skills, and strong organizational and leadership skills
