The Opportunity:
CACI seeks a highly motivated mid-level Software Engineer to join our team supporting NavalX within the Office of Naval Research (ONR). Our multi-disciplinary program requires an experienced technical expertise who understands complex requirements and can devise solutions to meet demanding customer needs. This position requires exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to work closely with customers, build relationships, and ensure CACI delivers the highest quality technical support within a cost constrained environment.
Responsibilities:
We are seeking a Mid-Level Software Engineer with a strong background in unmanned systems and sensor integration to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing and maintaining software for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), ground robots, or other autonomous systems. This role requires a deep understanding of sensor data processing, algorithm development, and system integration.
+ **Software Development:**
+ Design, develop, and maintain software applications for unmanned systems.
+ Implement algorithms for sensor data fusion, processing, and analysis.
+ Develop and optimize code for real-time performance in embedded systems.
+ **Sensor Integration:**
+ Integrate various sensors (e.g., LiDAR, cameras, IMUs) into unmanned systems.
+ Ensure accurate and reliable data acquisition and processing from sensors.
+ Collaborate with hardware engineers to troubleshoot and resolve sensor-related issues.
+ **System Testing and Validation:**
+ Conduct rigorous testing of software components and integrated systems.
+ Perform simulations and field tests to validate system performance.
+ Analyze test results and implement improvements based on feedback.
+ **Collaboration and Documentation:**
+ Work closely with cross-functional teams including hardware engineers, data scientists, and project managers.
+ Document software designs, algorithms, and testing procedures.
+ Contribute to technical reports and presentations.
+ **Continuous Improvement:**
+ Stay current with the latest trends and technologies in unmanned systems and sensor integration.
+ Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing sessions to improve team expertise.
+ Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains.
Qualifications:
_Required:_
Education:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
Experience:
+ 3-5 years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on unmanned systems or robotics.
+ Proven experience with sensor data processing and integration.
Technical Skills:
+ Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, or Java.
+ Experience with embedded systems and real-time operating systems (RTOS).
+ Familiarity with sensor technologies (LiDAR, cameras, IMUs, etc.) and data fusion algorithms.
+ Knowledge of robotics middleware (e.g., ROS) is a plus.
Soft Skills:
+ Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
+ Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

**Pay Range** : There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:
$73,800 - $155,100
