    Responsibilities

    + Adhere to safe work practices, GMP's and sanitary conditions to ensure food safety and product quality.

    + Perform and document quality checks (e.g., visual inspections, weight, gas, leaker, and case checks).

    + Identify and report quality defects; place product on hold and evaluate disposition.

    + Sample, grade, and test incoming cheese for packaging suitability.

    + Conduct microbiological and chemical testing on raw materials, finished products, and environmental samples.

    + Prepare and send environmental swabs for pathogen testing.

    + Troubleshoot quality issues and recommend corrective actions.

    + Communicate with suppliers regarding quality concerns.

    + Maintain and review quality records (e.g., hold logs, weight files, audits).

    + Train new hires and co-workers on quality procedures.

    + Monitor lab inventory and notify manager of supply needs.

    + Audit production lines and maintain daily communication with management.

    + Address GMP violations by respectfully informing employees of non-compliance and ensuring immediate corrective action is taken.

    + Report repeated or unresolved GMP violations to management for further action.

    + Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    + High school diploma or GED required

    + Experience in food manufacturing or quality assurance preferred.

    + Read interpret SOP's, technical documents, and regulations.

    + Write reports and communicate effectively.

    + Present information clearly in both individual and group settings.

    + Excellent organizational and multitasking skills; able to meet deadlines.

    + Follow verbal and written instructions; perform routine and repetitive tasks.

    + Proficient in Microsoft excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and industry specific software.

    + Quick learner with strong technical knowledge.

    + Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

    + Committed to maintaining a positive, respectful work environment by staying composed, avoiding conflict, and supporting team collaboration.
