In this role, you'll own platform reliability, incident management, and automation strategies across our global SAP ecosystem—directly impacting billions in revenue and millions of customers. Lead cross-functional initiatives to reduce MTTR, strengthen peak-season resilience, and eliminate toil through intelligent automation. If you've successfully managed large-scale enterprise platforms, driven 20%+ incident reductions, and thrive on solving complex challenges at scale, this is your opportunity to make operational excellence a competitive advantage for Walmart.

    About Team:

We at Walmart are fully committed to leading the business side of technology – how we operate, measure success, and implement solutions. Our team focuses on strategic portfolio acceleration, cross-segment tech enablement, tech talent experience (TTX), portfolio foundations, and technology business operations.

What you'll do:** **Platform Reliability & Incident Management

Own operational health of Walmart's SAP landscape; define SLAs, reduce production incidents through proactive monitoring, and establish robust incident/problem/change management frameworks that minimize business impact. **Automation & Toil Reduction**

Design and implement automation solutions that eliminate manual operations across SAP landscape; build self-healing capabilities and streamline support workflows to improve engineering efficiency. **Peak Readiness & Business Continuity**

Lead enterprise-wide readiness exercises for high-volume retail events (holiday season); ensure DR/BCP strategies, capacity planning, and failover procedures support zero-downtime operations. **Cross-Functional Strategy & Stakeholder Management**

Partner with Product, Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Finance teams to define technology roadmaps; translate operational metrics into business outcomes and drive alignment across 50+ dependent teams. **Talent Development & Operational Standards**

Build and mentor high-performing DevOps and platform engineering teams; establish runbooks, documentation standards, and cross-training programs that scale operational knowledge and improve mean-time-to-resolution.

What you'll bring:** **Enterprise Platform Expertise at Scale

Deep hands-on experience managing mission-critical systems supporting multiple teams or equivalent scale; proven ability to maintain 99.9%+ uptime for platforms handling millions of transactions daily across global operations. **Data-Driven Operational Excellence**

Track record of reducing incidents 20%+, MTTR 50%+, or similar metrics through root-cause analysis, KPI/OKR frameworks, and continuous improvement methodologies; comfortable building dashboards and visibility tools that surface actionable insights. **Automation-First Engineering Mindset**

Strong scripting/tooling skills (Python, Bash, AWS automation) with demonstrated ability to replace manual processes with automated solutions; experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and self-service tooling that empowers teams. **Supply Chain & Fulfillment Operations Knowledge**

Understanding of finance, inventory, order management, or warehouse systems; ability to translate operational requirements into technical solutions and understand business impact of platform issues during peak periods. **Strategic Leadership & Influence**

Principal-level presence: can drive consensus across senior stakeholders, recruit/develop top engineering talent, and balance short-term firefighting with long-term architectural improvements; ITIL/DevOps certified with ability to establish operational standards across large organizations.
