We are the movers of the world and the makers of the future. We get up every day, roll up our sleeves and build a better world -- together. At Ford, we’re all a part of something bigger than ourselves. What will you make today?

As part of our Quality team, good is never good enough. Ford Quality shares your passion for striving for perfection. We’re responsible for driving continuous improvement efforts that enable Ford to deliver the highest quality products and services.

    In this role you will...

Act as a Global Warranty Chargeback Engineer, where you will be pivotal in recovering warranty costs incurred by supplier-caused issues across all global Ford and Lincoln vehicle lines. You will serve as a critical link between Product Development, Finance, Purchasing, and our supply base, using data-driven analysis to determine liability and negotiate financial recovery. This highly collaborative role requires you to support technical investigations, prepare financial debit packages, manage supplier disputes, and present recovery strategies to senior management, directly contributing to the company's bottom line.

    What You'll Do...

+ **Manage the Recovery Roadmap:** Drive the Global Warranty Chargeback (GWC) recovery process for your assigned commodities, owning the financial recovery target and maintaining an accurate project roadmap in the UnWRec database.

+ **Lead Liability Negotiations:** Support the analysis of warranty claims and technical data to determine supplier liability. Lead negotiations with suppliers to agree on cost-sharing "Acceptance Factors" and execute chargeback agreements.

+ **Execute Financial Recovery:** Prepare initial debit packages and collaborate with Debit Analysts to ensure the successful execution of recurring payments, resolving any supplier disputes that arise.

+ **Drive Technical Problem Solving:** Support the resolution of technical field concerns using the 8D problem-solving methodology, driving the escalation process between Product Development and Purchasing when necessary.

+ **Collaborate on Part Analysis:** Initiate and participate in part testing and failure analysis alongside Product Development engineers, supplier representatives, and GWC Technicians in a UAW facility.

+ **Promote Continuous Improvement:** Identify systemic issues from warranty data and initiate Green Belt / Black Belt projects to drive long-term quality improvements.

+ **Communicate with Leadership:** Present recovery status, roadmap updates, and business cases to various management forums, effectively communicating complex financial and technical information.

    You'll Have...

+ Bachelor of Science in Engineering OR an equivalent combination of education and extensive experience in a technical quality role.

+ 5+ years of experience in an automotive quality, product development, launch, or manufacturing plant environment.

+ Demonstrated proficiency with data analysis and warranty systems (e.g., GCQIS/GSAR, WPAC, UnWRec) and problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, DMAIC).

+ Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform financial analysis, create data-driven reports, and present findings using MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).

+ Excellent negotiation, team-building, and communication skills, with proven experience working in cross-functional and global teams.

+ A strong understanding of quality indicators, lean principles, and a demonstrated commitment to problem-solving.

+ Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.

+ Direct experience working for an automotive Tier 1 supplier, particularly in a quality, warranty, or customer-facing role.

+ Advanced financial acumen, including experience with cost modeling or direct involvement in commercial negotiations with purchasing teams.

+ Familiarity with automotive supplier contracts, commercial terms and conditions (T&Cs), and the legal framework governing warranty agreements.

+ Certified Black Belt or Master Black Belt.

    Even Better, You'll Have...
