    The Project Coordinator will work with the Assistant Director and Project Director to develop and implement programming that supports the academic success of McNair Scholars to prepare each participant for successful entry into and completion of graduate study.

     

    The Project Coordinator serves as a program administrator, outreach coordinator, student advisor, and instructor who reports to the Assistant Director. The approximate allocation of time is 10% Administration, 40% Mentoring/ Advising, 25% Instruction, and 25% Outreach. This is a full-time position.

     

    Key Responsibilities and Duties

     

    + Overseeing the recruitment efforts to serve eligible participants annually.

    + Co-planning and coordinating McNair workshops, seminars, and/or classes.

    + Assisting participants in securing mentors for research projects and summer internships.

    + Providing consistent, regularly scheduled appointments with scholars.

    + Coaching participants as they seek ways to overcome challenges.

    + Facilitating opportunities for participants to engage in scholarly activities, including conference attendance and graduate school visits, as well as to network with others in academia.

    + Co-planning trips and traveling with participants.

    + Assisting the Assistant Director in overseeing compliance with federal regulations.

    + Tracking performance measures, updating the program database, and assisting in preparing annual performance reports, including gathering data on McNair Alumni.

    + Maintain the website, social media, and alumni tracking system.

    + Responsible for personal safety and the safety of others; must always exercise due caution and practice safe work habits.

    + Other related duties as assigned.

    Job Requirements:

    + Master's degree preferred in any related field.

    + Experience with college counseling/advisement and teaching students from groups underrepresented in postsecondary education.

    + Strong organizational, oral, written, and computer skills.

    + Self-motivated and able to exercise independent judgment.

    + Access to reliable transportation.

    Additional Information:

    Salary: $60,000 annually. Note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
