Job Description:
This is a temporary caregiver role intended for individuals who have recently completed clinical training or graduated from a relevant program. Caregivers are expected to obtain professional certification within one year of completing their training, in accordance with standards set by ARDMS, ARRT, or CCI. Exceptions may apply for those actively pursuing registry examination.

Essential Functions
+ Prioritizes and schedules ultrasound exams, coordinating with medical staff, physician offices, other caregivers, and patients.
+ Prepares for exams by verifying patient identity, educating the patient and family about the procedure, and transporting the patient as needed.
+ Performs ultrasound exams in accordance with established protocols and within appropriate timeframes. Operates equipment correctly, ensures patient safety and comfort, and delivers high-quality imaging results.
+ Returns patients to their rooms post-exam and ensures their stability and safety.
+ Identifies patient needs throughout the process and communicates effectively with physicians, caregivers, patients, and families to coordinate care.
+ Documents exam results and relevant information accurately. Ensures proper charging for exams and supplies.
+ Follows appropriate procedures to report equipment issues or request supplies.
+ Supports team initiatives and participates in quality improvement efforts.
+ Engage in ongoing education to maintain clinical competence and expand skills and knowledge.
+ May work under this job code for up to one year following program completion, unless actively pursuing registry certification in accordance with ARDMS or CCI standards.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
+ Eligible to take ARDMS or CCI board exams in cardiac or vascular sonography within one year of hire.
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.
+ Currently enrolled in or a graduate of an accredited or certificate program, including the Intermountain Adult Echocardiography Program.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Related experience in sonography or a healthcare setting.
Physical Requirements:
+ Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
+ Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
+ Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
+ Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
+ Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
+ May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
+ For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
$26.47 - $40.87
