    Job Description:

    The Senior Director of Clinical Data Management provides strategic and operational leadership to design and implement data abstraction and reporting systems for internal and external stakeholders, including hospital-based publicly reported data requirements for TJC, CMS, etc. This role coordinates closely with clinical and operational leaders to meet data abstraction needs including data acquisition and reporting.

     

    The role also aligns closely with DTS including Enterprise Analytics, EDW, Clinical Informatics, for the design and building of key reports. This role is a member of the Clinical Excellence Leadership team and is responsible for a high level of strategic planning and execution across the system.

     

    We anticipate a start date on or before December 7, 2025, for this position.

     

    The role involves travel to locations where Intermountain conducts business. Candidates residing in, or willing to relocate to, Utah, Nevada, Colorado, or Montana will be considered.

    Essential Functions

    + Develops the strategy for clinical data management in support of clinical and operational leaders at the system, region, market, and care site level. Scope includes all Intermountain Health clinical functions including clinical programs, service lines, shared services, medical group, acute and ambulatory care sites, following a system led, locally deployed support model.

    + Develops the strategy and execution aligned with the Clinical Excellence leadership team to drive overarching strategies that support the delivery of highly reliable care that is safe, high-quality, patient-centered, and equitable.

    + Ensures the high-level framework is in place so that data meets all regulatory requirements and is presented in a meaningful and actionable way to drive decision making, performance improvement activities, and external reporting.

    + Leads the team to ensure regulatory/accreditations specifications, data governance, automation, and registry compliance across the system.

    + Builds and supports an effective, skilled creative team with a high level of commitment, cooperation, and performance; promotes and supports professional development. Responsible for all aspects of personnel management and leadership, including staffing, performance coaching and development of a team of direct reports.

    Minimum Qualifications

    + Master’s degree in informatics, healthcare administration, nursing or other related field. Must be obtained through an accredited institution and will be verified.

    + Demonstrated successful health care system measures management, including leadership experience managing measurement and data processes.

    + Demonstrated analytical skills and expertise in data management.

    + Experience in the integration of data management with clinical needs.

    + Experience working in a complex health system (hospitals, ambulatory clinics, post-acute care, etc.)

    + Experience with change management with the ability to provide leadership in the adaptation and implementation of new processes and /or technology that enhance Quality, Safety and Patient Experience.

    + Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Master’s degree in nursing, with active state license in Nursing.

    + Experience with external entities that drive and support Quality, safety and Patient Experience approaches and standards, including government agencies, academic institutions, universities and related organizations of higher education, and other public institutions.

    Physical Requirements:

    + Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.

    + Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.

    + Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information, etc.

    + May have the same physical requirements as those of clinical or patient care jobs, when the leader takes clinical shifts.

    + For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.

    + Ability to travel to some remote sites and for system meetings required.

    The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

     

    $77.50 - $119.68
