We are currently seeking a talented and motivated **Director of Finance.**

    Position Summary:

    The **Director of Finance** will act as the top financial leader at NuAxis Innovations, managing all areas of accounting, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), and compliance. This role will maintain the accuracy of financial reporting, lead forecasting and budgeting efforts, and serve as a strategic partner to executive leadership, operations, and business development. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in federal government contracting finance, including FAR, DFARS, CAS, and GAAP compliance, and the ability to lead a growing organization through process improvement and financial transformation.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Strategic Financial Leadership – Offer strategic insight and guidance on growth initiatives, profitability, and capital allocation to support long-term business objectives.

    + Budgeting & Forecasting – Lead the creation of the annual operating plan, long-term forecast, and strategic financial models.

    + Financial Reporting – Manage the monthly closing process and ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial statements in compliance with U.S. GAAP.

    + Compliance & Audit Readiness – Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, CAS, and DCAA standards; uphold strong internal controls and documentation for audits and regulatory reviews.

    + Indirect Rate Management – Oversee fringe, overhead, and G&A rate structures; ensure accurate calculation and consistent application across all contracts.

    + Business Partnership – Collaborate with Operations, BD, and Project Management to analyze contract profitability, pipeline scenarios, and cash flow impacts.

    + Performance Analysis – Analyze trends, KPIs, and performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and support informed decision-making.

    + Process Improvement – Drive efficiency and modernization within the Finance Department and across organizational processes.

    + Executive Reporting – Prepare and present monthly financial packages and insights to the executive leadership team and board of directors **.**

    Required Qualifications:

    + 7–10 years of progressive experience in Finance and Accounting, including at least 3 years in a senior leadership role

    + Proven experience in federal government contracting with mastery of FAR, DFARS, CAS, and DCAA compliance

    + Strong command of U.S. GAAP and internal control frameworks

    + Advanced understanding of Unanet (experience supporting ERP transitions preferred)

    + Demonstrated ability to lead financial planning, analysis, and modeling in a dynamic environment

    + Skilled in building and leading high-performing teams and implementing process change

    + Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills

    + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or MBA strongly preferred
