Job Summary
The Coastal Ecology and Seagrass Biology Lab in the School of Ocean Science and Engineering at The University of Southern Mississippi seeks a postdoctoral researcher with expertise in seagrass biology and ecology for studies to on seagrass reproductive ecology and physiology. Individuals with experience in seagrass ecosystems, and interest or experience in plant reproduction, are encouraged to apply.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
+ Engage in a project studying seagrass reproductive ecology and physiology to inform conservation and restoration.
+ Develop expertise in seagrass biology and ecology and contribute new knowledge and ideas to this area of research.
+ Participate in planning and executing field work in nearshore seagrass ecosystems in the Gulf.
+ Contribute to written and oral communication, including the development of peer-reviewed manuscripts as lead author, reports, website content, and public outreach products.
+ Participate in student mentoring, and perform other duties as assigned by the study PI.
