             Job Summary The Teacher Apprentice Liaison is a part-time (10-month, August-May) grant funded position that focuses on building strong, supportive relationships with teacher apprentices to foster their professional growth and success in the classroom. Teacher apprentices are employed as teacher assistants in Mississippi school districts while enrolled in USM’s online elementary education coursework. The Teacher Apprentice Liaison serves as a key support professional for these preservice teacher candidates, acting as a consistent point of connection between the university and partnering school districts and helping to ensure aligned expectations, responsive support, and improved communication. Primary Duties and Responsibilities + Engages in on-site visits for instructional coaching and mentorship, tracking apprentice progress towards program competencies. + Serves as a liaison between teacher residents, mentor teachers, school administrators, and the University. + Supports and/or delivers professional development in teacher preparation and teacher mentorship. + Contributes to the growth and development of the teacher apprenticeship program through recruitment, outreach, and continuous improvement efforts. + Attends university meetings and programs, including professional development, as appropriate. + Performs other duties as assigned.
