Job Description
Riverland Community College, a proud member of the Minnesota State system, seeks a **Part-Time Esports Coach** to lead the Blue Devils esports program. The coach will provide instruction, mentorship, and program development for student-athletes while fostering academic success, teamwork, and sportsmanship. This position also supports the mission of the college by promoting equity, inclusion, and student engagement through competitive esports.
Responsibilities
+ Plan, organize, and lead regular practices, skill development sessions, and game preparation.
+ Coach and supervise student-athletes during practices, competitions, and events.
+ Recruit and retain student-athletes to build a strong and sustainable esports program.
+ Monitor academic performance and support the holistic success of student-athletes.
+ Manage scheduling, communication, and coordination of matches and events.
+ Ensure compliance with institutional, conference, and national governing body rules.
+ Represent Riverland Community College with professionalism and integrity.
+ Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the team and broader campus community.

Commensurate with qualifications and experience
Minimum Qualifications
+ Associate’s degree with 2 years experience coaching esports **-** **O** **R-** High school diploma with 3-5 years coaching esports **-** **OR-** Three or more years of competitive esports playing experience.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to work evenings and weekends as required by competition schedules.
+ Experience with computers and IT troubleshooting.
+ Experience with online gaming.
Preferred Qualification
+ Bachelor’s degree.
+ Two to four years of collegiate-level competitive esports experience.
+ Experience with NACE: The National Association of Collegiate Esports.
+ Experience with Collegiate Esports Leagues including: League of Legends, Valorant, Rocket League, Smash Ultimate, FC, NBA2K, Madden, Fortnite, and Overwatch.
+ Demonstrated ability to recruit, develop, and mentor student-athletesexperience at the collegiate or high school level.
+ Experience in program development and promotion.
+ Bilingual/multilingual fluent in Spanish, Karen, Karenni, Somali, Pohnpeian, French, Nuer, Anuak, or other languages that reflect our student body, workforce, and communities.
+ Demonstrated experience working with multicultural and underserved populations.
