             We have an opportunity for a plant IT Specialist to support the operational technology (OT) landscape within the manufacturing plant at our Elyria location! This position ensures responsive, high-touch support for plant-facing systems while serving as a key liaison between the site, Enterprise IT, Professional Tools IT, Facilities, and the Digital Operations team. The Plant IT Specialist enables smooth day-to-day technology operations, drives adoption of new digital tools, and helps keep critical plant systems running without disruption. I **n This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:** + Serve as the primary on-site contact for IT-related systems and issues, delivering prompt and attentive support for plant operations. + Work closely with manufacturing teams to understand site needs, resolve technical problems, and maintain continuity in system usage. + Troubleshoot technology issues and prepare detailed, well-documented information for Enterprise IT to accelerate resolution and reduce back-and-forth. + Act with a strong sense of ownership and urgency to ensure minimal disruption to production activities during any technology issue or outage. + Ensure effective technology onboarding of new Operations employees. + Coordinate local infrastructure needs (e.g., device deployment, network connectivity) with Facilities and Enterprise IT. + Manage process changes and deployment of new digital tools, including local training, issue tracking, and user engagement. + Provide real-time feedback to the Digital Operations team on plant challenges, usage patterns, and opportunities for improvement. + Support access to operational data required for dashboards, analytics, and digital initiatives. + Maintain documentation of plant-specific systems, configurations, and support procedures. + Reinforce IT best practices, basic cybersecurity hygiene, and asset management standards. For This Role, You Will Need: + Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or similar), or equivalent work experience. + Experience in IT or OT support, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting. + Interpersonal and communication skills - able to build trust and provide support across functions and job levels. + Familiarity with Windows-based systems, networking fundamentals, and common troubleshooting practices. + Sense of ownership, accountability, and responsiveness when supporting operational teams. Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart: + Experience working in a manufacturing plant or industrial environment. + Exposure to systems such as MES, ERP, or machine monitoring platforms. + Familiarity with industrial hardware (e.g., label printers, barcode scanners, industrial PCs). + Understanding of cybersecurity principles in IT/OT environments. + Experience supporting change initiatives or training end-users during technology rollouts.
