Job Summary and Qualifications
We are seeking a **Clinical Operations Coordinator RN** to be the primary point of contact and liaison who collaborates with the Chief Nursing Officer to develop and direct shared governance, train on service excellence solutions to improve our patients’ hospital experience in nursing and ancillary departments, and promote nursing engagement through intentional recognition programs.
This position supports the CNO in obtaining, compiling and disseminating data within this scope of patient services, in addition to coordinating communication forums related to this data. Collaborates with each department and area to ensure that satisfaction drivers are addressed on an on-going basis. Guides the assessment of patient satisfaction metrics, nursing engagement actions, along with executive leadership at the division and facility level to engage the organization in continually improving programs to increase and sustain internal and external customer satisfaction.
What you will do in this role:
1. Provides oversight and direction for the Patient Experience initiatives.
2. Maintains regular, appropriate social media posts around nursing activities in collaboration with marketing.
3. Develops routine engagement activities that highlight the nursing culture of Chippenham Hospital.
4. Communicates effectively and on a routine basis:
a. Conducts day-to-day communications within the facility regarding engagement (nursing and patient)
b. Provides weekly huddle tips for clinical updates
c. Develops monthly and quarterly newsletters
d. Creates the Annual Nursing Report
5. Develops and implements strategies to help recruit and retain clinical staff
a. Pro-actively identify barriers and develop/enact effective mitigation strategies.
b. Operationalizes tactics in support of strategic goals for clinical staff engagement and patient experience.
c. Support onboarding and recruitment activities
6. Provides support for mentorship program
a. Partners with nursing leaders to identify and pair mentees with mentors
b. Works throughout the year to promote the mentor / mentee relationship
c. Aggregates outcomes for mentorship program.
7. Provides administrative direction to the Shared Governance operations of the nursing departments
8. Actively partners with Clinical Education to increase the certification and educational level of clinical staff
9. Demonstrates knowledge of regulatory requirements, HCA Ethics and Compliance policies, and quality initiatives.
10. Maintains governance protocols to ensure compliance with all CMS and HCA internal policies and procedures (i.e. data security, user configuration/permissions, HIPPA, etc.).
11. Tracks and trends outcomes; makes recommendations and develops action programs to improve engagement.
12. Provides education to nurses, physicians and ancillary staffs, as required.
13. Along with the CNO develop and present a comprehensive plan that includes short and long term goals to move the HCAHPS agenda forward and sustain facility HCAHPS scores above the CMS average.
14. Promotes the professional and clinical development of facility staff through recognition, education programs and meets with various departments, groups, managers/directors to formalize programs.
15. Coordinates and leads compliance initiatives and projects as needed.
16. Completes other duties as assigned.
What qualifications you will need:
+ Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN or MSN preferred).
+ Current Registered Nurse License in Virginia or Current Multistate Compact License.
+ 5+ years of clinical experience in a hospital or healthcare setting preferred.
+ Previous leadership or comparable experience preferred.
+ Prior experience leading change management initiatives preferred.
+ Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification (BLS or BCLS).
+ Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS) or obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
