    Description of Duties

    This position, in the health care field, is responsible for performing a variety of direct and indirect services for chronically ill and convalescent resident/patients. This position is distinguished from Nursing Assistant by virtue of being responsible for the training and mentoring of Nursing Assistant and Unit Aide staff in a unit. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of a licensed nurse or other higher-level staff member. Supervision of others is not a responsibility of this position . Does related work as required.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma plus one (1) year paid full-time or its part-time equivalency experience in patient care in a hospital or long term care setting.

     

    SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS : Possession of a valid New York State Nursing Aide Certification issued by the New York State Aide Registry.
