    Job Summary

    Under the general supervision of the Director of Hospital Services, supervises Housekeeping staff on a daily basis to assure hospitals cleanliness and safety. Ensures patients recovery by providing a clean, attractive, and safe environment through daily supervision of staff and the performance of their duties.

     

    Core Job Responsibilities

     

    + Maintains the highest possible standards in the hospital..

    + Insures that all equipment is clean and in good repair.

    + Trains Housekeepers and utility workers in hospital Housekeeping techniques and use of equipment.

    + Inspects and surveys for compliance with departmental standards.

    + Conducts performance evaluations, counsels, and disciplines in accordance with the personnel policy.

    + Assigns and directs duties of Housekeeper II and utility workers.

    + Delegate’s authority to appropriate employees.

    + Controls labor hours and usage of supplies.

    + Participates in self development programs and activities.

    + Tests new procedures, products, equipment, and uses those that are approved.

    + Verifies and approves time cards of employees.

    + Prepares daily and monthly reports and makes minor changes.

    + Develops schedules to provide adequate work coverage.

    + Requests maintenance repairs for buildings, furnishings, and equipment as necessary.

    + Administers progressive discipline when necessary and recommends discharges as necessary.

    + Performs other related duties requested by the Department Head.

     

    Education/Experience Requirements

    Required:

    + High School Diploma

     

    Licensure/Certification Requirements

    Required:

    + One to three years experience in hospital Housekeeping service, including leadership experience.
