Optics Fabrication Technician (Temp-to-Hire) – 1st Shift

**Schedule:** Sunday–Wednesday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM

**Location:** Boulder, CO

**Pay Range:** $21–$24/hour DOE

Overview

We’re seeking a **skilled and detail-oriented Optics Fabrication Technician** to join a leading optics manufacturing team in Boulder. This hands-on role involves fabricating precision optical components to meet exact customer specifications using processes such as beveling, milling, blocking, grinding, polishing, curve generation, and inspection.

This is a **temp-to-hire opportunity** with strong long-term potential in a clean, innovative, and fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

+ **Optical Fabrication:** Perform a variety of fabrication processes to ensure optical components meet all print and specification standards.

+ **Process Control:** Monitor and manage Baume and pH levels to maintain optimal production quality.

+ **Precision Blocking:** Execute detailed alignment and blocking procedures with accuracy and care.

+ **Polishing & Finishing:** Polish single test plates and maintain wedge control to produce high-quality optical surfaces.

+ **Process Improvement:** Recognize and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and consistency.

+ **Team Development:** Provide support and training to junior technicians; may lead specific departmental projects as assigned.

+ **Additional Duties:** Perform other production-related tasks as needed.

Qualifications

+ **Education:** High school diploma or GED required.

+ **Experience:** Optics experience preferred but not required. We welcome candidates with solid work history, attention to detail, and an interest in building a long-term career in precision manufacturing.

+ **Teamwork:** Strong collaboration and communication skills; able to work effectively with peers, engineers, and supervisors.

+ **Attributes:** Dependable, motivated, and eager to grow in a hands-on, technical environment.
