Southwest District Health (SWDH) is recruiting for aPrincipal Research Analystto join the dedicated group of public health professionals in theOrganization Development section within the Division of District Operations.

     

    As aPrincipal Research Analystand public health employee, you will serve an active role in improving the health of your community. As part of a small, but mighty team, you will plan and direct the development, implementation, and evaluation of research and statistical projects. Your primary objective will be to support the organization in establishing quality controls for data collection, research, and evaluation. This entails overseeing and actively participating in the entire research lifecycle, from initial planning to final evaluation, to ensure that projects are conducted effectively and produce reliable results. By maintaining rigorous quality standards, you will play a vital role in ensuring the integrity and reliability of research outcomes within the health district.

    Our generous benefits package boosts total compensation for full-time Principal Research Analyst, transforming the base pay range from $33.71 - $39.66/hour to an estimated total compensation value, including benefits, of $47.47 - $54.75/hour, showcasing our investment in your well-being and professional growth.

    Typical Duties:

    Candidates must be able to complete the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation and meet all the mandatory qualifications of the position.

     

    + Analyze, update, and review data files and reports for statistical accuracy

    + Interpret data trends, draw conclusions, and make recommendations based on study results

    + Consult with users on data utilization and research system potentials

    + Disseminate research findings through written, narrative, graphic, and tabular formats; deliver oral presentations

    + Review and correct erroneous data, ensuring consistency with study objectives

    + Identify research areas, establish data collection methods, procedures, and database parameters

    + Write documentation defining reporting fields; develop programs for data analysis

    + Collaborate with stakeholders for research project coordination

    + Oversee research and evaluation projects conducted by staff and contractors

    + Lead data governance strategies; assist in determining organizational performance measures

    + Implement data tracking and visualization; contribute to organizational strategy and planning efforts

    Minimum Qualifications:

    You must possess all the minimum qualifications listed below to qualify for this position. All required experience and/or education must be listed under the work history section of this application OR on your resume and must include a detailed explanation of your roles and responsibilities at each relevant employer.

    Minimum Qualifications (MQ):

    + Approximately 4 years of experience or equivalent education in modeling and trend analysis and simulation techniques.

    + Approximately 2-4 years of experience or equivalent education in:

     

    - Planning, developing, and implementing complex research and statistical projects and presenting the results

     

    - Using and interpreting output of a statistical analysis software package.

    MQ Specialty :

    + Valid Driver’s License

    + Approximately 6 months to a year of experience or equivalent education in strategic planning concepts and practices.

    + Approximately 4 years of experience or equivalent education in multivariate parametric and non-parametric statistical analysis, modeling, trend analysis and simulation techniques.

    Ideal Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities :

    + Understanding of public health or community health practices.

    + Ability to work in a collaborative environment and lead collaborative projects.

    + Some experience with data programming languages (R, Python, Sequel, etc.).

    Supplemental Information:

    This position is not covered by Social Security. As a result, employees do not pay Social Security taxes and will not earn credits toward Social Security retirement, disability, or survivor benefits based on earnings from this job. However, Medicare taxes will still be withheld, and these earnings will count toward Medicare eligibility.
