    **Supervises:** 1 Lead Building Engineer

     

    SALARY - $110,000.00-120,** **000.00

     

    About the Role

     

    We are seeking a **hands-on Chief Engineer** to oversee day-to-day operations, maintenance, and building systems for a premium Class A office property in Dallas, TX. This role leads one Lead Building Engineer and ensures all building systems perform reliably, efficiently, and safely to deliver an exceptional tenant experience.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Oversee all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire/life-safety systems.

    + Plan, implement, and document all preventive and corrective maintenance programs.

    + Supervise and mentor the Lead Building Engineer; ensure all work meets Class A standards.

    + Manage contractors and vendors — review work quality, safety compliance, and cost control.

    + Conduct daily building inspections; respond promptly to tenant comfort requests and service calls.

    + Track budgets, utility usage, and maintenance costs; recommend efficiency and capital improvements.

    + Maintain accurate service logs, inspections, and regulatory documentation.

    + Enforce safety, code compliance, and environmental best practices.

    + Participate in after-hours emergency response and on-call rotations as required.

    Qualifications

    + 10 years of experience in commercial property or facilities engineering (Class A experience preferred).

    + 3 years prior supervisory or lead experience in **high-rise Class A office** .

    + Strong hands-on knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building automation systems.

    + EPA Universal Certification preferred; additional trade licenses a plus.

    + Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.

    + Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and model a safety-first mindset.
