Job Title: Traveling Project Manager
Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic Traveling Project Manager who embodies our company culture and commitment to Safety, Quality, and Efficiency (SQE). This role is pivotal in executing projects aligned with the President’s vision and strategic plan. You will manage costs, schedule, and relationships with owners, general contractors, and subcontractors to successfully complete projects safely, on time, and within budget across multiple states. You will report directly to the Area Manager.
Responsibilities
+ Develop the initial work plan and schedule for projects with the project team.
+ Communicate and update project plans throughout the project lifecycle.
+ Plan and communicate necessary resources with the project team to meet schedule and budget.
+ Organize, plan, and monitor safe work practices on projects.
+ Approve daily field reports, check quantities produced, prepare look-ahead schedules, and monitor costs and safety.
+ Communicate weekly progress with the project team.
+ Engage with subcontractors, vendors, and clients during the construction process.
+ Coordinate with the operations manager, general superintendent, crews, and upper management.
+ Assist in the development and growth of foremen.
+ Mentor project managers and project staff.
+ Evaluate opportunities to improve project positions, including innovative solutions.
+ Manage risk on projects.
+ Price and negotiate change orders with the owner/general contractor.
+ Monitor and communicate the financial standing of projects to upper management.
+ Perform monthly cost-to-complete analyses.
+ Collaborate with accounting on extra work and invoicing.
+ Facilitate project closeout quantities and payments.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in safety management and OSHA regulations.
+ Experience in excavation, utility, and commercial construction.
+ Strong project management and construction management skills.
+ Ability to negotiate and handle change orders effectively.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with safety training and implementation.
+ Strong communication and leadership abilities.
+ Capability to mentor and guide project staff.
Work Environment
This role requires travel across multiple states and involves working both in the field and in office settings. You will be working in trailers and office environments, collaborating with various teams and stakeholders. The position demands a proactive approach to safety and effective communication with all involved parties.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oak Creek, Wisconsin
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $58.00 - $67.30/hr.
