    Job Title: Site Safety Manager

    Job Description

    The Site Safety Manager is a field-based position responsible for overseeing safety and health-related aspects of construction activities on a 1 year project upgrading power plant. The role involves representing the company professionally, ensuring contractor compliance with safety programs, and adhering to regulatory and legal requirements. The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong ethical commitment, integrity, and accountability for the success of the safety program and the overall project.

    Responsibilities

    + Oversee and conduct safety observations and inspections of construction management and contractor activities to ensure compliance with safety programs and applicable standards.

    + Conduct safety audits of construction projects and report compliance issues for corrective action.

    + Participate in meetings with contractors and subcontractors to address health and safety issues.

    + Attend pre-activity construction meetings and project coordination meetings.

    + Review contractor work and safety plans to identify and resolve issues.

    + Monitor contractor activities to ensure compliance with project safety plans.

    + Complete daily reports documenting events, findings, observations, and major tasks related to safety, health, and project status.

    + Report to the Corporate Construction Safety Manager.

    Essential Skills

    + Exceptional ability to develop positive relationships and lead through influence.

    + Effective communication skills with all parties.

    + Thorough technical expertise and understanding of regulations, laws, industry standards, and best practices.

    + Subject matter expertise in occupational health and safety, construction safety, and related topics.

    + Self-starter who promotes ownership and accountability.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or related fields preferred.

    + Professional certification such as CSP, ASP, CHST, OSHT, GSP, or similar required.

    + 5 years of relevant work experience in construction safety.

    + 5 years of supervisory experience in construction safety.

    + Experience as an Owner's Representative is preferred.

    + Must possess a valid driver’s license.

    + Ability to work individually and as part of a team.

    + Ability to plan and organize daily schedules and activities.

     

    Work Environment

     

    The position is based at the Columbia Generating Station for a 1+ year assignment supporting Power Plant upgrades

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract position based out of Madison, Wisconsin.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
