    The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical systems, components, and equipment. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, cost-effective, and high-quality solutions.

    Responsibilities

    + Design and develop mechanical systems, components, and products using CAD software and engineering tools.

    + Perform calculations, simulations, and analyses to validate designs and ensure compliance with safety, reliability, and performance standards.

    + Produce technical drawings, specifications, repair procedures, and documentation for manufacturing and assembly.

    + Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and project teams to support production, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

    + Conduct prototype testing, collect data, and evaluate product performance.

    + Research new materials, methods, and technologies to enhance product performance and efficiency.

    + Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with company and industry standards.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

    + 5-10 years of mechanical design experience.

    + Experience in machine design, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

    + Proficiency in CAD software such as CREO, AutoCAD, or equivalent.

    + Strong understanding of mechanical systems, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and materials science.

    + Project management skills.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Proficiency in SolidWorks.

    + Experience in engineering and project management.

    + Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

    Work Environment

    This is an office-based role with casual dress code and involves approximately 10% travel to job sites. The team consists of four project managers, and you will report to the engineering manager. The position offers a competitive package that includes vacation and holiday benefits, as well as a salaried position with potential overtime.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Reading, Pennsylvania.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $40.00/hr.
