    Job Title: Wastewater/Quality TechnicianJob Description

     

    We are seeking a dedicated Process Control Quality Assurance Utility Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be engaged in various responsibilities including working in the lab, conducting wastewater testing, performing quality inspections, and other assigned duties. You will play a crucial role in inspecting coils, performing testing, and managing the process of treating coils to ensure quality and compliance.

    Responsibilities

    + Conduct quality assurance and utility technician duties in wastewater and lab settings.

    + Inspect and perform testing of coils, including making and managing baths for coil treatment.

    + Ensure water treatment stays within pH permit limits and conduct water tests.

    + Load and unload filters, process and document coil quality, and check thickness of electric galvanized coatings.

    + Communicate with production teams regarding valves and pumps and help control the production line.

    + Perform titrations to determine free acid levels, conduct EXRF and ICP analyses, and measure pH levels.

    + Document test results and manage spreadsheets, correcting baths when specifications are not met.

    + Perform various coil tests based on customer specifications, including pole tests and coating thickness measurements.

    + Identify and report coil defects such as tears, stains, holes, and dents, and communicate with production to resolve issues.

    + Conduct blister testing and communicate results to mill representatives.

    Essential Skills

    + Previous lab experience from college or work settings.

    + Understanding of the pH scale.

    + Experience working with chemicals, paints, coatings, or metals.

    + High School Diploma or GED.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Mechanical aptitude and experience with water treatment.

    + Proficiency in quality control, quality assurance, and quality inspection.

    + Experience in a production environment with visual inspection capabilities.

    Work Environment

    The role is set in a non-union environment with shifts that include second (3:00pm - 11:00pm) and third (11:00pm - 7:00am) shifts. Candidates should be open to working all shifts based on performance and team needs. Expect to work five days a week with potential shifts extending to 10 or 12 hours, including rotating Saturdays. Overtime is compensated at 1.5x after 8 hours daily and all day on Saturday, with double time after 12 hours daily.     This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Walbridge, Ohio.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
