Job Title: Remote Estimator
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team. The role involves analyzing civil and architectural blueprints, specifications, and project documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates. The position will require close collaboration with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to refine estimates and ensure accuracy throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
+ Analyze civil and architectural blueprints, specifications, and project documentation.
+ Prepare detailed cost estimates including labor, materials, equipment, and time.
+ Conduct quantity take-offs and site visits to gather data.
+ Consult with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to refine estimates.
+ Use estimating software to model costs and generate reports.
+ Track actual costs and adjust estimates as project scope evolves.
+ Evaluate cost-effectiveness and risk factors of proposed designs.
+ Maintain a database of suppliers, contractors, and historical cost data.
+ Assist in bid preparation and contract negotiations.
Essential Skills
+ 5+ years of estimating experience.
+ Bachelor's degree in construction or engineering.
+ Proficient in Bluebeam and Microsoft Office.
+ Experience in architectural, structural, and civil domains.
+ Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with estimating school projects in the Caribbean.
+ Ground up experience in construction management.
+ Proficiency in project management and commercial construction.
+ Experience with Revit software.
Work Environment
This position offers a remote work environment. You will be part of a high-end construction consulting office and work on large-scale projects for one of the largest cost management firms in NYC. The environment is highly professional, providing opportunities to work on elaborate projects in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of New York, New York.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $55.00/hr.
