    Controls Engineer- Wheeling, IL

     

    Experience Level: Entry-Level

    Key Responsibilities:

    •Troubleshooting & Support

    + Diagnose electrical issues using fundamental principles and recommend solutions.

    + Adhere to safety protocols (e.g., LOTO).

    + Implement permanent, professional fixes and document updates.

    + Communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical teams.

     

    Electrical Design

     

    + Design and document electrical systems per NFPA, UL, and international standards.

    + Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical and EPLAN for schematic development and library maintenance.

    + Develop industrial networks, feeder/branch circuits, and safety risk assessments.

    + Integrate sensors and control devices for motion, pressure, and communication.

     

    Software Design

     

    + Develop PLC code aligned with end-user requirements.

    + Configure I/O systems and ensure reliable sensor integration.

    + Program machine logic, safety interlocks, fault handling, and user interfaces.

    + Document software intent and apply iterative development practices.

     

    Skills & Technologies

     

    + PLC Programming (Allen-Bradley, Rockwell RSLogix, Siemens)

    + AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN

    + HMI Development, Industrial Automation

    + Troubleshooting, Control System Design

    Preferred Experience

    + Industrial machinery experience (automotive a plus)

    + Strong communication and problem-solving skills

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
