Job Title: Design Release EngineerJob Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Design Release Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of innovative products that ensure customer safety. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who works effectively in cross-functional environments and is driven to excel in technical project management and design release of electrical modules.
Responsibilities
+ Create and maintain Interface Control Design (ICD) strategy and ICD templates.
+ Develop and maintain commodity-specific documentation.
+ Generate and maintain global subsystem/component technical specifications templates.
+ Lead the resolution of technical issues.
+ Update required information and document progress in the Problem Resolution Tracking System.
+ Coordinate with multiple suppliers and lead/manage supplier resident engineers.
+ Support sourcing activities and generate technical solutions for current, new, and major programs.
+ Perform complex design analysis.
+ Initiate documents to provide engineering authority and maintain math/CAD data.
+ Collaborate with engineering functions, suppliers, plant personnel, and others to implement cost reduction, methods, and product improvements.
+ Validate your module.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Math, or Computer Science.
+ Minimum of 2 years of automotive product experience, with a strong preference for control modules/sensors/HW/SW.
+ Proficiency in writing and comprehending software/hardware requirements.
+ Understanding of hardware design and failure modes in electronic modules.
+ Knowledge of vehicle serial data communications.
+ Experience in software verification/validation processes.
+ Demonstrated leadership, communication, and project management skills.
+ High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with electronic validation.
+ Experience with automated driving sensors (Cameras, Lidars, Radars, Ultrasonic Sensors) is a plus.
+ Experience in manufacturing and vehicle launch.
+ Knowledge of Team Center Systems Engineering and/or IBM DOORS requirements management tools is a plus.
+ DFSS Certification.
+ Experience in the design/development/integration of safety-critical systems/components.
Work Environment
This position offers a hybrid work environment, requiring 3 days in the office and 2 days remote. The office is located in Warren, where you will collaborate with a dynamic team within the Vehicle Engineering Center (VEC). The work involves interaction with design studios, manufacturing engineering, purchasing, quality, and supplier technical assistance teams. Professional attire is expected during office days.

This is a Contract position based out of Warren, Michigan.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $55.00/hr.
