    The Medical Assistant will perform quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician for both clinical and administrative functions. This role is essential in promoting health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment while supporting clinician and care management teams. Responsibilities include performing all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform quality team-based patient care under direct supervision of a clinician.

    + Support clinician and care management teams in clinical and administrative functions.

    + Conduct all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in medical assisting and patient care.

    + Phlebotomy skills and experience.

    + Knowledge of laboratory quality control requirements.

    + Understanding of basic medical terminology.

    + Familiarity with universal precaution procedures in medical safety practices.

    + Ability to communicate and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.

    + Capability to assess emergencies and act accordingly.

    + Independence, responsibility, and organization.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High School diploma required.

    + 2 years' experience within a clinic/back office healthcare setting.

    + MA diploma or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or 3 years' MA experience.

    + Phlebotomy experience is required.

    + Ability to take vitals, with preference for manual vitals.

    + Active BLS certification required.

    + Active driver's license required.

    + Flexibility to adjust to changing work environments.

    + Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

    + Experience with eCW EMR preferred.

    Work Environment

    The position is part-time, with shifts from Monday to Friday, 4:45 PM to 10:30 PM. There is an opportunity to transition to a permanent role. Compensation includes $0.67 per mile when traveling between clinics, and a $20 gas card if asked to float outside core locations. Training on manual vitals is provided.
