    Job Title: Container Security Engineer

    Job Description

    We are seeking a skilled Cyber Security Engineer with expertise in securing Kubernetes and Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments. The ideal candidate will focus on protecting containerized applications and infrastructure from vulnerabilities, managing container orchestration, and implementing robust system hardening measures.

    Responsibilities

    + Protect containerized applications and underlying infrastructure from vulnerabilities and threats throughout their lifecycle.

    + Manage and secure containerized applications using Kubernetes.

    + Secure RHEL hosts and containers using dynamic firewall rules and APIs to support container migration in a live environment.

    + Automate the deployment of Red Hat Enterprise Linux using tools such as Ansible, Kickstart, and Satellite.

    + Implement system hardening measures including secure boot configuration, data encryption, and user authentication management.

    + Automate patch management and vulnerability remediation using Ansible and Red Hat Satellite.

    + Ensure compliance with security standards and regulations utilizing NIST cybersecurity frameworks.

    + Implement networking solutions, containerization, and vulnerability management.

    + Conduct system scanning and hardening using ACAS/Tenable, SCC/SCAP.

    Essential Skills

    + Knowledge and application of Kubernetes and container orchestration.

    + Experience with automating deployments using Ansible, Kickstart, and Satellite.

    + Proficiency in Red Hat Enterprise Linux security integrations, including SELinux, fapolicy, and nftables.

    + Understanding of cybersecurity principles, RMF, NIST, and other government and DoD standards, policies, and frameworks.

    + Experience with system scanning, hardening, and working with Linux operating systems (RHEL preferred).

    + Experience with containerization and container hardening (Podman, Docker, Kubernetes preferred).

    + Proficiency in bash scripting.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Familiarity with software lifecycles, CI/CD pipelines, and Git-based workflows.

    + Experience implementing network segmentation using VLANs, VXLANs, and secure routing protocols.

    + Utilization of Quality of Service (QoS) policies in a containerized environment.

    + Deployment of Access Control Lists (ACLs) to enforce security policies.

    + Designing and implementing secure network configurations and management networks.

    Work Environment

    This role is primarily onsite in Syracuse, NY, with some hybrid flexibility as needed. Our team is integrated with a variety of programs, working on cutting-edge technology and collaborating with some of the best engineers in the industry.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $70.00/hr.
