    Job Title: Environmental Wetlands Consultant

    Job Description

    We are seeking a full-time Environmental Wetlands Consultant to join and rejuvenate our engineering consulting firm's wetland delineation group. The ideal candidate will have over two years of experience in wetland delineation, stream evaluations, federal Clean Water Act Section 404 permits, and state Section 401 water quality certifications. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to significantly contribute to the growth and leadership of the wetlands group, providing strong career advancement opportunities.

    Responsibilities

    + Travel locally to perform visual inspections, collect data, and identify relevant landmarks.

    + Use tools like ArcGIS to map wetlands and professionally interact with landowners, work crews, and other stakeholders.

    + Identify and document hydrology, soils, and vegetation to determine wetland boundaries.

    + Prepare technical maps using QGIS and AutoCAD, and develop remediation plans for contaminated sites.

    + Conduct Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.

    + Communicate directly with clients and government agencies.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficient in wetland delineation and environmental site assessments.

    + Experience in Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments.

    + Strong technical writing and environmental engineering skills.

    + Proficiency in stream evaluation.

     

    Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Bachelor's degree in environmental science, natural resources, geology, or related field.

    + Excellent written and oral communication skills.

    + Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

    + Ability to routinely lift varying weights from 10-50 lbs.

    + Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs.

    Work Environment

    The role involves 70% office work and 30% fieldwork, with sites located locally in Central Ohio. Travel is facilitated using company vehicles. The work environment is dynamic, providing an opportunity to be on the ground floor of reinstating the wetlands delineation services.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
