    Description

    Bethel Farms is looking for a Routing Dispatcher to join our Logistics Team based out of our Florida headquarters. This teammate reports directly to the Director of Distribution and will be responsible for planning driver routes, tracking and providing delivery status of products, and assisting the scheduling and assigning of driver and outside carrier personnel.

     

    The Routing Dispatcher will answer questions, record actions, and respond to emergency telephone requests as appropriate. They will maintain electronic records and files related to the transportation program. They will handle carrier dispatch and calls as needed and assist with load entry. The Dispatcher will also act as Customer Relations support, as needed.

    Essential Duties

    + Utilizing route planning software to plan, distribute, monitor, and follow-up on daily route assignments

    + Ensure timeliness, accuracy, communication, and high level of service for all customers

    + Use load board to maximize efficiency, cost-effectiveness, timeliness, and truck capacity for delivery routes with the incorporation of travel times, service times, DOT restrictions, and traffic patterns

    + Identify and plans deployment for increases / decreases in route volumes

    + Shift resources in response to seasonal fluctuations by resourcing carriers before and during season

    + Collaborate across departments and work with the Logistics, Operations, and Customer Experience Teams for load planning to ensure the most cost effective and time efficient routes

    + Troubleshoot and resolve potential delivery and pick-up problems before they result in service issues

    + Include route information, driver productivity evaluation, sales & service issues and opportunities, safety issues, and problem stops when recording, documenting, and distributing information

    + Keep manual and computerized records (time sheets, odometer, equipment use) for efficient operation

    + Handle routine details and phone inquiries not requiring immediate attention from Dispatch Lead and Director of Distribution for the purpose of efficient department operations

    + Keep up to date with State of Florida transportation and logistics operations.

    + Collaborate with and serve as back up support for fellow dispatch team members.

    + Dispatch drivers to regular and emergency duties in the absence of department supervisors

    + Fields incoming calls from customers or customer service department and manage requests

    + Manage requests for pick-up or delivery and ensure timely service

    + Respond to emergency telephone requests and work orders

    + Verify and ensure accuracy of driver mileage calculations

    + Professionally handle and resolve customer complaints

    + Update and maintain internal spreadsheets as required

    Requirements

    + High School Diploma is required (associate degree or higher is preferred)

    + Comparable work experience in a related field accepted

    + Ideal candidate would have dispatching and / or routing experience

    + Familiar with the type of licensing and permits required in the United States

    + Superior internal and external skills with communication and customer service

    + Interpersonal skills to deal courteously and effectively with coworkers, staff, and customers

    + Good skills with mathematics, decision-making, and computer literacy

    + Candidate must be bilingual (English & Spanish)

    + Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills

    + Supervisory and mechanical skills / aptitude
