    Controls Technician

     

    Washington, Missouri | On-site | Monday – Friday | Travel up to 25% |

    About the Role

    Join a dynamic team where your technical expertise will directly impact the quality and performance of advanced packaging systems. As a Controls Technician, you’ll play a key role in commissioning, troubleshooting, and testing a diverse product line, collaborating with engineering and service teams to drive continuous improvement.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Diagnose and resolve operational issues with shrink wrap and bundling machinery both in-house and at customer sites.

    + Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and ensure systems meet performance standards.

    + Install and integrate systems with other OEM equipment in the field.

    + Train internal and external personnel on equipment setup, operation, and maintenance.

    + Perform mechanical and electrical modifications, including PLC programming and servo drive reconfigurations.

    + Document installations, repairs, and performance insights for service management follow-up.

    + Maintain daily communication with the service coordinator to ensure customer satisfaction.

    Required Skills & Experience

    + 3–5 years of hands-on experience in industrial machinery and PLC troubleshooting.

    + Strong background in Allen-Bradley systems, electrical and mechanical automation.

    + Proficient in reading mechanical and electrical schematics.

    + High-level troubleshooting skills with PLCs and HMIs.

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Technical degree or certification in Industrial Automation or Electronics.

    + 5+ years of experience with packaging equipment, including Allen-Bradley PLCs, servos, and HMIs.

    + Familiarity with:

    + Emerson and Hitachi VFDs

    + Red Lion HMIs and temperature controllers

    + SolidWorks and E Drawings

    + Allen-Bradley CompactLogix/MicroLogix programming

    + Servo systems and motion controls

    + Prior travel experience and conveyor system knowledge are a plus.

    Work Environment & Perks

    + Flexible weekday start times

    + Voluntary weekend work with premium pay:

    + 1.5x on Saturdays

    + 2.0x on Sundays

    + Travel required up to 25%

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
