Job Title: Pallet Build Technician

Job Description

Join our team in the Pontiac Propulsion Labs, where you will collaborate with engineers to support engine validation and development. As a Pallet Build Technician, you will engage in mechanical part swaps, engine calibration development, and fabrication to prepare engines for testing. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and gain hands-on experience in engine assembly and testing.

Responsibilities

+ Collaborate with engineers in the Pontiac Propulsion Labs.

+ Perform assembly, modification, and fabrication of existing engines for testing.

+ Fabricate components on engines and test stands/dynos.

+ Handle instrumentation between the engine and the dyno.

+ Assemble engines on an "air Pallet" in preparation for testing.

+ TIG weld parts and components.

+ Pre-prepare engines prior to testing on the dyno.

Essential Skills

+ Welding, specifically TIG welding.

+ Experience with engines and dynamometers.

+ Fabrication and assembly skills.

+ Troubleshooting capabilities.

+ Hands-on experience with hand tools.

+ Associates degree or equivalent experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Recent graduates from a technical program with hands-on experience.

+ Experience working on cars, prototypes, and using hand tools.

Work Environment

The position is based in a clean test lab/garage at the engineering headquarters. The facility is air-conditioned, with a full-service cafeteria open from 6am to 2:30pm. The large facility includes ample parking, although employees may need to walk up to a quarter mile to reach the building. Candidates must provide their own basic tools. The first shift runs from 7am to 3:30pm, while the second shift operates from 2pm to 10:30pm or 3pm to 11:30pm, depending on the assignment.

This is a Contract position based out of PONTIAC, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
