Job Title: Field Technician – Distribution Design Support
Employment Type: Full-Time (contract to hire)
Description:
We are seeking a motivated Field Technician to support the Distribution Design Team in Orlando, contributing to Duke Energy’s Storm Hardening and Grid Maintenance programs. This role is field-based and involves collecting data, identifying electrical equipment, and maintaining accurate records in a database. Candidates must reside in the Highlands County/Lake Wales area.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Conduct field inspections and collect accurate data
+ Navigate various terrains and weather conditions while performing outdoor tasks
+ Use tablets and tools (camera, phone, laser measurement tool, hasting stick) to gather data
+ Maintain compliance with company policies and safety standards
+ Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members
+ Submit daily reports and ensure quality control of collected data
+ Perform tasks in accordance with industry standards
Required Skills:
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office
+ Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and work in outdoor environments
Qualifications:
+ 1–2 years of relevant experience
+ High School Diploma required; Associate’s Degree preferred
+ Electrician/Journeyman experience is a plus
+ Must pass a drug screen, BG check, and motor vehicle record compliance

+ Familiarity with distribution engineering, telecom, and utility inspection
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.
