    Energy Efficiency Engineer

     

    Compensation: $120,000 - $140,000 Per year.

     

    Join a long-term, mission-driven program with an ENR Top 5 Global Design Firm, where innovation meets sustainability. We are seeking a highly skilled Energy Efficiency Engineer to lead energy management initiatives at a federal military installation in Monterey, CA. This is a unique opportunity to drive measurable energy and cost savings while supporting national environmental and operational goals.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Lead and manage energy efficiency programs across diverse facilities.

    + Conduct comprehensive energy and water audits, identifying conservation opportunities.

    + Develop and implement energy-saving projects—from large-scale capital improvements to targeted retrofits.

    + Analyze utility data and perform design reviews to optimize building performance.

    + Recommend improvements in energy procurement, operations, and maintenance.

    + Support construction and commissioning of energy projects.

    + Prepare detailed, technically sound reports and documentation.

    + Explore renewable energy and distributed generation opportunities.

     

    Required Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Proven experience in energy efficiency, audits, and project management.

    + Strong knowledge of HVAC, lighting, control systems, and building automation.

    + Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or willingness to obtain within six months.

    + Familiarity with California Energy Codes, Executive Orders, and federal energy regulations.

    + Proficiency in solar modeling tools (e.g., SAM, RETScreen) and Microsoft Office Suite.

    + Excellent communication and client-facing skills.

     

    Preferred Background

     

    + Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 3+ years of experience.

    + OR: Environmental Science, Business, or related degree with 5+ years of experience.

    + OR: Technical degree with 8+ years of experience.

    + OR: Non-degreed professionals with 10+ years of proven energy management success.

    + Experience in lighting/mechanical retrofits, solar PV development, and BAS controls.

    + Ability to establish energy baselines and evaluate utility rate structure

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $64.00/hr.
