Job Title: Industrial Forklift Operator

Job Description

Join our team as an Industrial Forklift Operator, where you will support the Block Plant by operating a Triple Tine forklift to move pavers and large blocks. You will split your duties between forklift operation and general labor, assisting in the manufacturing process and ensuring cleanliness within the facility.

Responsibilities

+ Operate a Triple Tine industrial forklift to transport finished blocks to designated storage areas.

+ Assist with general labor duties, including equipment setup, housekeeping, and cleaning tasks.

+ Ensure compliance with lock out/tag out procedures and other safety measures.

+ Work in small spaces within tanks to clean and chisel dried concrete.

+ Regularly clean around and under machines and manually lift blocks to remove jams.

+ Check in with other operators throughout the manufacturing process.

Essential Skills

+ Experience operating an industrial forklift, preferably with double or triple tine capability.

+ Knowledge of machine operation and production support.

+ Ability to perform general maintenance and troubleshooting.

+ Experience in manufacturing or construction settings.

+ Proficiency in using hand tools and heavy equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Computer proficiency, particularly in using tablets for scanning labels.

+ Experience working outdoors on uneven ground.

+ Flexibility to work in various equipment operation roles.

+ Willingness to work second shift and overtime, including Saturdays.

Work Environment

The work environment includes an extremely loud plant requiring ear protection, which is provided. Steel-toed boots are mandatory. The facility is open-air and not climate-controlled, reflecting outside temperatures. Expect a dusty environment due to the paver manufacturing process.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Chesterfield, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
