    Job Title: Painter

    Job Description

    As a painter, you will prepare and apply finishes to both interior and exterior surfaces on small to mid-sized commercial projects. You will work in crews ranging from 3 to 10 people and adapt to non-climate-controlled environments. Ideal candidates possess more than 3 years of experience, exhibit strong attention to detail, and demonstrate proficiency with brushes, rollers, and spray equipment. Additionally, a solid understanding of safety protocols, including OSHA standards, is required.

    Responsibilities

    + Prep and apply finishes to interior and exterior surfaces on commercial projects.

    + Clean, sand, patch, and prime surfaces to ensure proper paint adhesion and a smooth finish.

    + Utilize brushing, rolling, and spraying techniques for both interior and exterior surfaces.

    + Mix paints to achieve precise colors and finishes, including matte, gloss, and textured coatings.

    + Patch holes, smooth seams, and prep drywall for paint.

    + Be familiar with primers, sealers, epoxies, and specialty coatings used in commercial construction.

    Essential Skills

    + 3+ years of experience in painting.

    + Strong attention to detail.

    + Proficiency with brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.

    + Knowledge of safety protocols, including OSHA standards.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + 2+ years' experience in commercial painting.

    + Familiarity with construction, drywall finishing, carpentry, concrete, and the use of hand and power tools.

    Work Environment

     

    You will work on small to mid-sized commercial projects in teams of 3 to 10 employees. The self-perform team currently consists of 27 employees and is expected to grow by 2025. The work environment is not climate-controlled, and the schedule is Monday through Friday, from 7 am to 3:30 pm, with contractors likely working 42-43 hours per week.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lenexa, Kansas.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr.
