Description We are looking for an experienced Managing Attorney to lead a high-performing team within a well-established personal injury law firm in New Orleans, Louisiana. This role offers a unique opportunity to oversee a large group of attorneys and contribute to the strategic growth of the firm. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of litigation expertise and proven leadership skills to manage operations and ensure excellence in client service.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and mentor a team of 30–50 attorneys across multiple practice areas, including personal injury, workers’ compensation, and mass tort litigation.
• Oversee case management from pre-litigation through trial or settlement, ensuring quality and consistency in legal strategies.
• Develop and implement performance standards, conduct evaluations, and maintain best practices throughout the litigation process.
• Act as a bridge between the attorney team and firm leadership, facilitating collaboration on workflow improvements and strategic initiatives.
• Provide coaching and training to attorneys, focusing on litigation techniques, client relations, and trial preparation.
• Cultivate an attentive and accountable team culture that encourages growth, teamwork, and client-focused outcomes.
• Assess attorney performance and create thoughtful development plans to uphold high standards of practice.
• Collaborate with firm ownership on operational enhancements and new business opportunities.
• Participate in firm-wide strategy discussions, including case management, practice development, and regional expansion.
• Support efforts to optimize marketing and intake processes to ensure effective case selection and workflow. Requirements • Active license to practice law in Louisiana.
• At least 10 years of litigation experience, with a strong background in personal injury or tort cases.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in managing attorneys within a law firm setting.
• Extensive trial experience, including jury trials, is highly preferred.
• Proven ability to inspire, motivate, and develop legal teams in a high-volume environment.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to oversee complex legal operations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure setting while maintaining attention to detail.
