    Job Title: Production Assembler

    Job Description

    As an assembler, you will perform various window and door assembly functions from start to finish. You will ensure quality by inspecting each phase of assembly and advising team members of any shortages or quality issues. Your role involves reading and following production lists, identifying proper materials, and adhering to standard work, control plans, and written work instructions. You will utilize tools such as drills, screw guns, nail/staple guns, chop saws, routers, sanders, and other equipment as part of the assembly process.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform complete assembly of windows and doors.

    + Advise team members of material shortages and quality issues.

    + Inspect each phase of the assembly process to ensure quality standards are met.

    + Read and follow production lists accurately.

    + Identify and select the proper materials for assembly.

    + Follow standard work procedures, control plans, and written work instructions.

    + Operate various hand and power tools required for assembly.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in assembly and production.

    + Proficiency with hand tools and power tools.

    + Ability to read blueprints and perform mechanical assembly.

    + Basic reading and math skills.

    + Ability to read a tape measure accurately.

    + Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High School Graduate/GED/HSED.

     

    Work Environment

     

    The work environment operates on two shifts: 1st shift from 5am to 3:30pm and 2nd shift from 3:30pm to 2am, Monday through Thursday, with potential work on Fridays. There are two twelve-minute breaks and one thirty-minute lunch break. The facility is not air-conditioned, so it can get hot, allowing for a flexible dress code. Steel-toed shoes are required, and candidates with long hair must wear it up. The company currently employs around 600 people.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dubuque, Iowa.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $22.20 - $22.20/hr.
