    Job Title: Production Shift Supervisor

     

    Salary: $70,000

     

    Shift: 2nd / 3rd

    Job Description

    As a Production Shift Supervisor, you will be a role model of professionalism for your shift. You will ensure punctuality and treat everyone with respect and dignity. The Shift Supervisor is responsible for the daily operations of the facility, focusing on safety, quality, and productivity. Your role involves supervising, organizing, and monitoring the workflow of production and packaging employees, while providing coaching to develop and maintain performance standards.

    Responsibilities

    + Maintain a safe and clean work environment by training and directing employees on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.

    + Ensure all equipment is functioning properly and coordinate repairs with the maintenance department. Conduct pre-production checklist inspections to ensure readiness for start-up, quality, food safety, and employee safety.

    + Coach and mentor production and packaging associates to enhance individual and team performance. Train associates on standard operating procedures (SOPs), standard sanitary operating procedures (SSOPs), and current good manufacturing practices (cGMPs).

    + Record manufacturing information, analyze production performance data, and address employee requests.

    + Resolve employee issues by analyzing information, investigating, and recommending solutions.

    + Collaborate with Quality Assurance staff to inspect and measure products, ensuring conformance to specifications and training employees to identify non-conforming products.

    + Coordinate production plans according to current needs and communicate goals to employees.

    + Ensure compliance with quality assurance, GMPs, safety, and other company programs and procedures.

    + Establish and maintain a continuous improvement culture within the company.

    + Monitor inventory and communicate needs to the appropriate department.

    + Address disciplinary issues and monitor tardiness in a timely manner.

    Essential Skills

    + High School Graduate or GED

    + Minimum of 5 years Food and Bev / Manufacturing XP

    + Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and ability to use Mac Computers and iPads

    + Skills in production management, production supervision, lean manufacturing, supervision, safety, continuous improvement, process improvement, Six Sigma, supervisory skills, management skills, manufacturing operations, and manufacturing processes

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Physical capability to frequently stand, sit, and carry weights between 21-50 lbs

    + Occasional manual manipulation, reaching, climbing, squatting, and kneeling

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $70000.00/yr.

     

    • Health Benefits

    o We make the following contributions to employee health insurance premiums for full-time employees.

    • 100% of HMO medical, PPO dental and PPO vision for employees.

    • HMO: A health maintenance organization (HMO) is a network or organization that provides health insurance coverage for a monthly or annual fee.

    • PPO: A preferred provider organization (PPO), like an HMO, offers a network of healthcare providers you can use for your medical care. PPOs tend to have higher monthly premiums in exchange for the flexibility to use providers both in and out-of-network without a referral.

    • 30% of HMO medical, 100% PPO dental and 100% vision for employees’ spouses and dependents.

    • You may elect to “buy up” to a PPO insurance plan. If you do, you must pay the difference between the HMO insurance premium (amount paid by Company) and the PPO insurance premium (the “buy up”).

    o Cash in Lieu of Medical Insurance

    • If you are covered by another qualifying group health plan you may choose to opt out of receiving medical insurance coverage and instead receive a gross payment of $214.00 a month or $2,568.00 a year, paid in bi-weekly installments of $98.77.

    o Flexible Spending Accounts - FSA

    • Health/Medical FSA. The money from your FSA may be used to pay for certain qualified medical, dental, prescription, vision, and hearing care expenses for you and your family.

    • Dependent Care FSA. The money may also be used to pay for dependent care at a licensed facility and care services from related or unrelated individuals such as a nanny and dependent care centers

     

    such as preschool, summer day camp, before or after-school programs, and child or adult daycare.

     

    • Commuter FSA. The money may be used for qualified expenses relating to commuting to and from work via mass transit, vanpooling, and the like.

    • Parking FSA. The money may be used to pay for qualified parking expenses for work.

    • Paid Sick Time

    o 48 hours (or 6 workdays) every year.

    o Additional time as required by law.

    • Paid Vacation Time

    o You will receive 2 weeks of vacation for your first year of employment.

    o First Year of Employment:

    • No vacation benefits are earned during the first 6 months of work for us. The seventh through the twelfth month of work, you will earn vacation at a rate of 6.16 hours per pay period, for a total of 10 working days (80 hours) of vacation at the end of the first twelve months of employment.

    • Holidays

    o You will get 7 paid holidays: New Years’ Day, Easter, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

    • Paid Parental Leave

    o You will get 2 weeks of paid parental leave per birth, adoption or placement of a child/children.

    • Bereavement

    o You will get 5 UNPAID days for the death of immediate family members (as defined by Lamonica’s). If you need additional unpaid time off, ask HR and we will try to accommodate you.

    • Costco Memberships

    o After 6 months of working for us, you will be given a paid Corporate Costco Membership.

    • 401K / Roth 401k

    o All employees who are at least 21 years old and have worked for us for 3 months are eligible to contribute to our 401k plan. Open windows to enroll are every quarter.

    • * Note, as of January 1, 2022, all employees who are at least 21 years old are eligible to contribute to our 401k plan. Open windows to enroll are January, April, July, and October.

    o Safe Harbor Match: This is the money that we will put in your 401K account.

    • If you contribute up to 5% of your pay as a deferral, we will make a 401K matching contribution of 100% on these deferrals.

    • As an example, if your salary is $50,000 a year and you contribute 5% ($2,500) a year to your 401k, then we will make a 401k matching contribution in the amount of $2,500.

    • Bonuses

    o You may be eligible for the following bonuses and incentive pay;

    • Good Employee Bonus – Quarterly bonus earned when there are no unexcused absences, no disciplinary actions, and no safety violations. Up to 5% of total pay for quarter.

    • Birthday Costco gift cards – $100 after 1 year of employment

    • Thanksgiving and Christmas Costco gift cards – up to $100 each holiday.

    • Safety incentive Costco gift cards – quarterly incentive that doubles every quarter when there are no lost time safety incidents; up to $375 a year.

    • Quality Assurance Bonus (amount depends on audit score assigned)- $25 to $100.

    • Discretionary year-end bonus
