Description

We are looking for a skilled Accountant in Pinson, Alabama. This Contract-to-permanent position offers the opportunity to contribute to financial operations while using Tyler software. The role is ideal for a meticulous individual seeking a long-term opportunity within a collaborative office environment.

Responsibilities:

• Record and manage journal entries to ensure accurate financial tracking.

• Process invoices and manage accounts payable activities efficiently.

• Handle accounts receivable tasks, including revenue collection and reconciliation.

• Conduct bank reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy and compliance.

• Utilize Tyler software for accounting processes specific to governmental operations.

• Prepare monthly and annual financial reports for review by city leadership.

• Assist in budget preparation and monitoring activities as needed.

• Collaborate with a small team to streamline accounting processes and provide support during transitions

Requirements

• Proven experience in accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger tasks.

• Proficiency in using Tyler software for financial operations.

• Strong knowledge of journal entries and bank reconciliation processes.

• Ability to prepare accurate financial reports and statements.

• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

• Degree in Accounting or related field (Associate’s or Bachelor’s preferred).

• Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with city officials and team members.
