             Job Title: Plant Operator Job Description Join a dynamic mining company committed to sustainable practices by extracting minerals from the ground and rehabilitating the land. As a Plant Operator, you will be integral to maintaining operations at state-of-the-art facilities, ensuring efficient production and quality control. Responsibilities + Record downtime and instrument readings accurately. + Observe and control the volume of slurry entering concentrator circuits. + Assist in service line relocation, tails line installation, and mining unit relocation. + Maintain metallurgical circuits to ensure product quality. + Start up and shut down all circuits and equipment in the mining area. + Operate heavy equipment, ideally with forklift experience. + Perform minor maintenance repairs and obtain concentrate samples. + Conduct basic housekeeping using water hoses and pressure washers. + Assist Engineering and Mining Production teams on maintenance repair days. + Observe and adhere to safety rules, reporting violations to the Mining Team Leader. + Monitor process flow and PLC controls, rotating between computer screens and plant operations. Essential Skills + Blueprint reading and machine operating skills. + Mechanical inclination and plant equipment operation experience. + 2-3 years in chemical operating or a similar field. + 1-2 years in heavy industry or outside work. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Valid driver's license to drive between the two plant locations. + Proficiency in using hand tools and moving service lines. + Ability to operate and drive motor vehicles. + Capability to perform tasks within physical requirements and pass all technical and equipment training. The role involves moderate lifting, exposure to excessive heat, humidity, cold, noise, and dust. The ability to work on scaffolding, maintain muscular coordination, and have excellent vision including color perception is essential. The job requires substantial walking and the ability to work alone or closely with others in various natural elements such as water, mud, and dirt. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Petersburg, Virginia. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $47840.00 - $56160.00/yr. Will get a copy from Management Eligible to sign up immediately for Medical, Dental, Vision etc. Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in Petersburg,VA.
