Position Summary
The Director, Rough Plumbing Wholesale Sales, Western Region directs the West Regional sales team and strengthens relationships with manufacturer’s representatives, customers, and end users within the Western geographic region. It is responsible for growing business among existing clients and promoting the organization to new clients to meet strategic business objectives. It coordinates with product management to suggest enhancements that will drive customer satisfaction, increase product influence, and broaden sales channels. It aligns objectives with Marketing and Channel Management to ensure we have successful new product rollouts, promotional activities. This role will have high visibility to senior leaders in the industry and at Oatey.
Position Responsibilities
+ Systematically and strategically manage relationships through direct contact with customers, reps, and contractors to anticipate needs and proactively address them.
+ Identifies growth opportunities within accounts through effective product placement and promotional opportunities.
+ Long-term decision making and responsibility for administering guidelines or procedures that address major issues that have significant impact internally with multiple departments and externally.
+ Analyzes sales report to monitor top and bottom-line sales performance. Directs regional sales team to jump start underperforming products to expand visibility and opportunities to overdrive strong-performing products.
+ Develop long-term goals and administer plans/policies/programs to achieve Wholesale Sales overall strategic vision.
+ Attends buying group meetings, trade shows and industry events to promote brands and products. Targeted result in growing top line sales and improving bottom line results by leveraging national programs and industry affiliations.
+ Communicates and resolves trends on individual account needs within the supply chain.
+ Ability to think strategically and critically to creatively solve problems
+ Directs the Western regional wholesale sales organization and staff to assure continuous improvement and effectiveness, financial viability, and to provide professional and personal growth opportunities.
Knowledge and Experience
+ 5+ years of experience in the Building Materials Industry.
+ 7 – 10 years of related experience, including 5+ years of management/supervisory experience.
+ In-depth sales and business experience with a demonstrated understanding of the Building Materials Industry.
+ Demonstrated leadership capabilities when managing department or team.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
+ Ability to lead regional sales team effectively covering territory CA, NV, AZ, HI, WA, ID, OR, MT, WY, CO, UT, MN, ND, SD, NM, including 60% travel, with a preference for candidates who live in the Western territory.
Education and Certification
+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience in lieu of degree.
