Summary of Position
The part-time Fine Arts faculty is an instructional position directly responsible to the Director North Service Area Campus and the Department Chair, Fine Arts. The instructor’s primary duties and responsibilities are teaching students at the Gatesville Prison Units and performing a variety of administrative duties.
Minimum Required Education
Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Fine Arts related to the coursework to be taught.
Minimum Required Experience
Teaching experience at the post-secondary or secondary level in Fine Arts preferred.
Courses to be taught include ARTS -1301, ARTS -1303, ARTS -1304, DRAM -1310, DRAM -2366, HUMA -1315, MUSI -1306
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
+ Must possess a demonstrated knowledge in the subject matter being taught and the ability to communicate with students in a clear manner and to author tests and lesson plans.
+ Must possess the ability to provide academic and vocational guidance to students as needed.
+ Must be organized and follow strict timelines for attendance and grading assignments.
